Academic paper summary

Chegini, H., Naha, R.K., Mahanti, A. and Thulasiraman, P., 2021. Process automation in an IoT–fog–cloud ecosystem: A survey and taxonomy.  IoT ,  2 (1), pp.92-118. https://mdpi-res.com/d_attachment/IoT/IoT-02-00006/article_deploy/IoT-02-00006-v2.pdf?version=1612923821 this is the academic paper I will summarize. the problem is that it is very long (23 pages) so this will be a summary of the first part of this academic paper : there are various types of IoT components and applications in terms of data, software, hardware, and actors. Different types of information are introduced to the IoT application: local information (close to the IoT layer) and global information (close to the cloud layer). In terms of hardware, various hardware platforms collaborate for data processing in the ecosystem, such as computational resources, storing resources, disk resources, and network resources with multiple attributes. As for software, different programming codes exist. Communicating agents,...

Software: Example

Image
to give an example of how the system or the software works I try 2 to do some easy activities as I try to create an internet of things system that allows you to control the HVAC system according to the temperature of the room with knowing about the power and the water in the office the first thing you see when you get to the software is this front page: Thingsboard. cloud. 2022 the first step I have done was to choose the devices to work with from the tab of the devices Thingsboard. cloud. 2022 I have added 4 devices every one of them for a different use  Thingsboard. cloud. 2022 the next step was to make a graph of how the room  tempter supposed to work Thingsboard. cloud. 2022 in the last step, the software will create an exaptation of the office: Thingsboard. cloud. 2022 finally, I have test the system and these were the results  Thingsboard. cloud. 2022 reference  Thingsboard.cloud. 2022. Software: Evaluation

board thing is an application that exists in the Java programming language  as you need to download the Java first to get access to the real version of the system  and this system helps you  to start your project with the internet of things  while can be used for multiple other users, to evaluate this program we should talk about two sides which are the positive and the negative  of this system: positives: ( Jang,2021) ThingsBoard is an open-source server-side platform that allows you to monitor and control your IoT devices. It is free for both personal and commercial usage and you can deploy it anywhere. The ThingsBoard Cloud is a fully managed, scalable, and fault-tolerant platform for your IoT applications. ThingsBoard Cloud is for everyone who would like to use ThingsBoard but doesn't want to host their own instance of the platform. ThingsBoard allows you to send Remote Procedure Calls (RPC) from server-side applications to devices and vice versa. Basi...

software overview

What is ThingsBoard ? ThingsBoard is an open-source IoT platform that enables rapid development, management, and scaling of IoT projects. it will provide the out-of-the-box IoT cloud or on-premises solution that will enable server-side infrastructure for your IoT applications (   Scott. and Eleyan,2019) Features (What is ThingsBoard?, 2022) With ThingsBoard, you can: Provision devices, assets, and customers, and define relations between them. Collect and visualize data from devices and assets. Analyze incoming telemetry and trigger alarms with complex event processing. Control your devices using remote procedure calls (RPC). Build workflows based on a device life-cycle event, REST API event, RPC request, etc. Design dynamic and responsive dashboards and present device or asset telemetry and insights to your customers. Enable use-case-specific features using customizable rule chains. Push device data to other systems. Much more… Architecture (IEEE, 2022) ThingsBoard is designed to ...

Survey Analysis: Continued

This blog post connects the dots between the demographics and the rest of the survey questions  (Demographic Analysis). Did you know about IoT before? That was the first question I asked. I found that more than half of the respondents (65%) knew about the internet of things or knew what it was. This indicates that IoT is becoming more and more popular.  Also, I asked my participants if they knew how it works? 12 out of 20 people were able to answer that they knew how the internet works, as expected from computing students  in the next graph, I have asked people if they have used one of the Internet of things devices. 50% of the answer was no as people didn't use any of the devices. On the other hand, 50% have used several devices like Siri (10%), smartwatches(5%), smart tv(5%), Alexa(5%), e-pay(5%) after asking people if they have used it before I have asked them how often they use it  the answer was as shown in the next graph 36,5% said they never used it, on ...
